Intelligent energy supply for new and existing buildings will require a nexus of efficient, smart energy management with evolving supply infrastructure critical to NYC and other cities.  This includes traditional supply, renewables, onsite energy supply, and grid interoperability to reliably manage a portfolio of resources for buildings and campuses. 
Various considerations will need to be addressed in order to transition from prior electric and gas supply business models for large customers and for utilities.  Issues such as onsite supply, back up resources, network integration, reliability, economics, and overall grid efficiency are at task. 
What actions and policies will stakeholders need to take on to be successful in this evolving energy supply and building management world?
